Senior Relationship Manager

Our Client a Global Bank is looking for a Senior Relationship Manager for their Commercial Real Estate Team, full details below:-

 

Principal Purpose of the Job:

To actively participate and support the managing of the Bank’s Commercial Real Estate business throughout the UK.

 

The role will involve managing new and existing commercial real estate relationships, in complex transactions, to support the successful delivery of business opportunities in line with budget, risk appetite, risk return measures, policies, procedures, regulations and strategy.

 

Monitoring of non-performing loans including instructing solicitors, receivers, administrators and other third parties. This will include arrears management and recommending strategies for loan recovery.

 

Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Managing new and existing commercial real estate relationships, in complex transactions, to support the successful delivery of business opportunities in line with budget, risk appetite, risk return measures, policies, procedures, regulations and strategy.

 

Monitoring a number of non-performing loans to include instructing solicitors, receivers, administrators and other third parties. This will include arrears management and recommending strategies for loan recovery.

 

Participate fully in the business marketing activities of the Department.

 

To identify potential clients/business opportunities as prescribed in the Commercial Property Finance strategy document working closely with the Bank’s overseas branch network/brokers and strategically aligned banks represented in the UK.

 

Able to interact with clients to understand their business model, forecasted cash flows, business risks, ESG credentials etc. with a view to optimising the Bank's exposure within its credit risk appetite.

 

Liaison with both in-house/external legal counsels to ensure appropriate appointment and satisfactory completion of the loan documentation process in a timely manner.

 

Liaise with external valuers and project monitors as necessary to ensure appropriate appointment and delivery of satisfactory and timely valuation of assets.

 

To oversee along with the Associate Relationship Manager, general/systematic account maintenance duties with clients, including the conduct and fulfilment of KYC/KYB/ FATCA requirements assisting with CDD on-boarding/review processes.

 

Ability to work closely with other areas/colleagues of the Bank both domestic and overseas to include but not be limited to Credit Risk Department / Credit Administration Department / CDD Team in the preparation of statistical information, analysis, review of credit lines and general duties associated with Commercial Real Estate Finance arising on a daily basis.

 

Maintenance of accurate credit / credit file information.

 

In association with the Head of Department, manage the post completion smooth running of agreed facilities and the overall Client / Bank / Syndicate / Club relationship through to maturity / repayment of facilities ensuring all imposed conditions are complied with throughout the loan term.

 

Attendance at internal / external courses to keep up to date with major market / regulatory trends / requirements advising colleagues accordingly.

 

Collaboratively work with the Head of Department to ensure all key performance indicators are maintained

 

Other tasks as directed and requested by the Head of Department.

 

Skills Required:

 

  • The candidate will be expected to exhibit a background in front office support/credit of 3 - 5 years (minimum) with direct client exposure in commercial real estate;
  • The ability to exhibit direct responsibility for a portfolio of real estate clients is essential;
  • Experience of writing credit papers;
  • Good communication skills as you will be in regular contact with clients, external advisors and internal stakeholders;
  • Ability to work on own initiative with the support from the Head of Department;
  • Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to the business practices and culture;
  • Advanced skills in negotiation.
