Our Client, a Global Bank, is looking to hire an Associate for their Global Loans Syndication Department. Further details below:
Principal Purpose of the Job:
To assist the Global Loan Syndications team in both identifying and executing new loan opportunities in order to improve the Bank’s market credentials and profile whilst also contributing to the up-tiering in client relationships.
A key part of the role will be to provide high quality presentations aimed at both external clients and internally to senior management at ALCO and EXCO meetings as well as to the overseas branches for regular market updates. There will also be a strong focus on the development and maintenance of a number of reports and spreadsheets linked to deals closed, fee reporting, deal pipeline, co-operation with the Bank’s overseas branches and the monitoring of department performance targets.
The role will involve maintaining close working relationships with the relationship management teams in London across both the Corporate Banking Department (CBD) and Institutional Banking Department (IBD) in addition to building a close dialogue with the Branch network across the broader EMEA region.
Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Preparation of the internal presentations such as market update to branches, Head Office and for EXCO preparation.
Preparation of league table submissions on closed tables.
Preparation of case studies / credentials on closed deals.
Maintaining deal tombstones for all Bank closed transactions involving roles with MLA title or above, which will be used for internal and external presentations.
Assisting in the preparation of client presentations.
Preparing various search requests linked to outstanding deals, pricing comparative analysis and loan maturity analysis for refinancing opportunities.
Preparing invitation letters to investors when the Bank is acting as Bookrunner.
Assisting with the preparation of Info Memos on live deals when the Bank is acting as a Bookrunner.
Assisting with the preparation of secondary trade approvals and related checklists.
Assisting with the preparation of payment/receipt memos related to the settlement of secondary deals.
Tracking the status of the approval process linked to the internal sign-off on secondary trades.
Maintaining and updating the GLS pipeline.
Maintaining and updating the fee revenue report on closed deals linked to KPIs.
Maintaining and updating a spreadsheet on closed deals arranged by other banks for pricing and structure comparison.
Maintaining and updating a spreadsheet on all financing opportunities discussed with the branch network.
Maintaining close contact with Credit Administration Department on operational matters linked to live and existing deals.
Stay fully appraised of all relevant and current syndicated loan market dynamics in order to add value to both clients and internally to relationship management teams.
Join regular calls with the Bank’s branch network.
Ensure that the professional image of the Bank’s Loan Syndications business is maintained at all times.
Compliance with all applicable regulatory and internal policies.
Other tasks as directed by the Department Head and other team members.
Specific Accountabilities
To assist in the origination, development, marketing, negotiation and execution of transactions with the Bank’s clients in the UK and across the EMEA region.
To manage all the administrative and reporting activities including maintenance of the deal pipeline, maintenance of the fee report linked to closed deals and maintenance of a spreadsheet on all financing opportunities discussed with the Bank’s branch network.
To prepare a number of internal and external presentations on a regular basis.
